Ironically, the current generation are called millennials.  Maybe, they will wind up being the first generation in the coming Kingdom of God, speculation, but who knows?  Some people who study the Bible have a hard time with the concept of the millennium!  Well it's not really that hard, biblically speaking.

It describes the beginning of a thousand year long reign of Christ on this earth after His return.  He will actually reign forever and ever, but the first 1000 years is called the millennium.

The seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, which said:

"The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Messiah, and he

will reign for ever and ever."

I bet you thought God ruled the earth now.  Nope.  Remember how Adam and Eve rejected the tree of life and chose the tree of the knowledge of good and evil?  It was there at the beginning in the Garden of Eden, that they chose Satan and his system, over God and His system.  They preferred Satan and they listened to him, which mankind still does to this day, not knowing who they are really worshipping. The book of Revelation says that Satan has deceived the whole world.  Remember how Satan offered Christ all the kingdoms of the world if he would fall down and worship him.  Those Kingdoms were under Satan's rule, or why would he tempt Christ and even offer them?  But God has a plan to turn it around and bring men back into a relationship with the real God and His son Jesus Christ.

Christ said, "if I be lifted up from the earth, I will draw all men to me," signifying the death that He would die, lifted up on a Stauros or upright pale.  Living a perfect and righteous life and enduring this terrible death, qualified Christ to be the savior of all men someday.

We know that Christ is prophesied to rule the earth with a rod of iron, and this is physically ruling the earth, not up in heaven.  As the bible says, no man has ascended to heaven except for the one who came down from heaven.  John 3:13

Needless to say, there are those who don't comprehend this 1000 year reign of Christ on the earth.  For example, one naysayer says, "The word “millennium” is not in the Bible. Not only is the word not found in your Bible, the idea is not there..."  I'm guessing this naysayer doesn't read the Bible much!

He says the idea is not there.  Wrong, big time wrong.  We are no longer talking about the one helplessly hanging on a cross, but of the one who will return to this earth and begin a 1000 year long reign, where he will rule the world. The book of Revelation says that He will rule with a rod of Iron. "According to the Psalm, he will "rule the nations with an iron scepter" and "dash them to pieces like pottery."  The book of Zachariah says he will rule the earth.  Will he be cruel? No, but the reason for the rod of iron, is that He will literally have to force people to put away their warlike ways and long held grievances.

Isaiah 2:4 describes His rule of the earth, "He will judge between the nations and will settle disputes for many peoples. They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks, nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore."  This is not going on up in heaven, Christ will literally rule from David's throne right here on earth not in heaven!

"Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David's throne and over his

kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of

the LORD Almighty will accomplish this."

When He returns, He will also resurrect His team, the saints, who will rule with him for 1000 years, during the

millennium, which is the beautiful Utopia desired by all men, not knowing what they even desired.

Revelation 20:6 says, "Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection. The second death has no

power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years."

They will rule over a physical earth.  Well, there you have it, there is a 1000 year period of peace on this earth,

mentioned in the Bible!  The concept  certainly is taught in the bible.  Sorry Mr. naysayer, you are wrong, the

 concept is there.
