JESUS, KING OF THE MILLENNIUM

A grandmother of 11 explained that it was a financial hardship on her to keep Christmas.  She said she could not afford to buy gifts for everyone because she was on a fixed income.  I took opportunity to explain that the concept of buying a gift for everyone you know at Christmas is not taught in the Bible.  I had her attention.  The reason Christ received expensive gifts of gold, Frankincense and Myrrh was because He was a King.  A King that had not yet received His Kingdom.  The birth of Christ is about the birth of a King that will replace Satan as ruler (king) of this world!

A KING IS BORN.....and His Kingdom will never end!

"Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, saying, where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him."  Matthew 2:1-2

An angel confirms the fact that He was going to be a ruler to Mary his mother.  In verse 6, the angel tells her, "...for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel."  He did not do that in His physical lifetime.  They rejected and killed Him.  When Pilate was mocking the crowd at Jesus' trial, he repeatedly said, Don't you want me to release the King of the Jews? He asked it several times but they all wanted Him killed.  So Pilate gave Jesus to the torturers.  They mocked Him by putting a royal purple robe on Him, they made a "royal" crown of thorns and painfully pressed it down onto His head.  They kept it up, finally a sign over His head on the stake read "THE KING OF THE JEWS."

Luke 1:32-33 is where the angel explains to Mary who is in her womb.  The angel said,

"The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever; his kingdom will never end."

So now when Christ tells His 12 disciples that each one of them will rule one of the Tribes of Israel, we see why He chose 12 disciples.  He told Pilate that His Kingdom was not of this world, otherwise His disciples would fight.  His Kingdom will come at His return.  Still, while He was alive, He prepared 12 disciples to rule 12 tribes of Israel!  Matthew 19:28 says, "Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel."  This is in the Bible and it fits with what the angel told Mary.  There is going to be a future Kingdom and her Son was truly a King.

Flash forward to Revelation.  What happens at the return of Christ?  Does it say "And everybody went to heaven?"  No, go look at what it says!

"And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.  Revelation 11:15

The 12 disciples have been promised rulership at the restoration of all things, and this "restoration begins at the return of Christ.  Shortly before the return, God will gather the 12 tribes together again for the first time in over 2000 years.  They are lost but not to God.  He knows which modern nations are the descendants of Israel.  They exist now.

Even though they went into captivity in 722 b.c., Paul mentions the 12 tribes. (Acts 26:7)  The apostle James mentions the 12 tribes (James 1:1) and Christ mentions the 12 tribes. (Luke 22:30, Matthew 19:28)  He promises rulership of these tribes to His disciples.  This is in your Bible.   And Hebrews 8:8-9 says God will make a New Covenant WITH THESE LOST TRIBES.  The Bible is explicit.  The church is not the focus of the Bible...the restoration of Israel is.  Christ is going to remove Satan as ruler of this world.  He will rule the world at His return for 1000 years.  Israel will help take God's Kingdom to the rest of the world.

THE NEW COVENANT IS WITH ALL 12 TRIBES OF ISRAEL!

"Behold, the days are coming, says the LORD, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah--"  Note that these are two separate entities.  The "Ten Lost Tribes" split off from the House of Judah in the book of Kings and they were called the "House of Israel" thereafter!
