WHAT ARE THE GIFTS UNDER THE TREE?
...that God talks about in Ezekiel?Is there a Historical connection between the December 25th Winter Solstice holiday and human sacrifice?People are offended these days by almost everything...but they never think that God might be offended by what we do. Even though we find out something is very wrong, we will continue to do it, based on the values of tradition over truth. Think about the logic of this. My mother and father did something a certain way, so it must be right. Look at the harmless practice of bringing millions of evergreen trees into homes the world over, every December. Where did that originally come from?
I'm making this up as a silly example, but what if the whole world all ate a fried squirrel dinner on June the 4th, and had done so for 1000s of years, would it be wrong to question that? Would it be wrong to ask why is everyone doing that? Most don't question tradition, ever. When we got married, we did the bride over the door step thing. Why? Because everyone does it. Guilty.
If you ask your mom and dad why they bring a tree into their home, they won't really know, because they got it from their parents, and back and back it goes.
Where did tradition of dolls under Christmas tree come from?
History.com says "On the last day of Saturnalia (Roman Winter Solstice holiday) known as the Sigillaria, many Romans gave their friends and loved ones small terracotta figurines known as Signillaria, which may have referred back to older celebrations involving human sacrifice." December 25th is a Winter Solstice holiday kept the world over by almost every culture from Rome to the Mayans, and human sacrifice was the big event. God did not want His people to be contaminated with sun worship, but Israel jumped in head first. They even sacrificed their children under evergreen trees. God says they did.
The Gifts Under the Tree
"Christmas may not be mentioned by name in the Bible but the words “gifts” and “tree” are in the same context with the sacrifice of children and the worship of idols, and the winter solstice was when they did it. Read the following passage to see what God has to say about “gifts and trees.”
Ezekiel 20:26,28, 31 “I let them become defiled through their GIFTS---the sacrifice of every first-born...” vs. 28 “When I brought them into the land that I had sworn to give them and when they saw any high hill or any leafy tree, there they offered their sacrifices...” vs.31 “When you offer your GIFTS -the sacrifice of your sons in the fire, you continue to defile yourselves with all of your idols to this day...”'Anciently, sun worship involved rites of human sacrifice of firstborn children up to the age of five by causing them to “pass through the fire to Moloch.” “They built high places for Baal in the Valley of Ben Hinnom to sacrifice their sons and daughters to Moloch...” Jeremiah 32:34-35 The word Moloch simply means King. The idol Moloch had the shape of a bull and in fact, the English word bull is a corruption of the Hebrew Bal or Baal."Read from the Mythology of all Religions, vol. 5. “Living infants and children were BURNED IN THE FIRE to the god Moloch during this time. This was the time of the winter solstice (Dec. 25th) when those heathen were dismayed at the signs of heaven. (Winter Solstice meaning sun stop)”
WE WILL BE AS THE HEATHEN...
Ezekiel 20:32, 33 And that which cometh into your mind shall not be at all, that ye say, We will be as the heathen, as the families of the countries, to serve wood and stone. [As] I live, saith the Lord GOD, surely with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out, will I rule over you.
We can try to sanitize this heathen holiday, but in the end God says:
"LEARN NOT THE WAY OF THE HEATHEN"
