Church of God

In the Garden of Eden, mankind made a choice, they chose Satan over God...and now we see what we got for it, an evil evil world, a disaster.

Right off the bat, mankind liked Satan better than God.  They chose to eat from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and other words, they chose Satan's tree or "Satan's system." They really liked what Satan had to offer.  That tree had evil associated with it...and men have an attraction to evil. One only has to watch the news at night to know that this world is an evil world that has the nature of Satan.  God's way is anti-evil.

Man rejected God and His system, so He threw man out of the Garden of God.  Since that day God has been mostly hands off.  Men chose Satan, and even though that might seem wrong to you that Satan is the god of this world, remember at Christ's temptation how Satan offered Christ the rulership of the world...there was no argument, it was Satan's to give.

Luke 4:5-8
The devil led Him (Christ) up to a high place and showed Him in an instant all the kingdoms of the world.  And he said to Him, "I will give you all their authority and splendor, for it has been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want to.  So if you worship me, it will all be yours."   Jesus answered, "It is written: "Worship the Lord your God and serve him only."  NIV

Did you notice that Christ did not argue with Satan when he boasted that he would give Christ authority over the kingdoms of the world if He would bow down and worship him?  Christ knew that Satan had authority over the nations. But, He also knew that if He waited patiently that He would soon replace Satan as ruler of this world.

Christ said something interesting in John 12:32.  Speaking of His coming death, he said, "And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to me."  The word "draw" is from the Hebrew helkuo, which means "to drag, literally or figuratively."  Associated too is haireomai, to take for oneself, i.e. to prefer."  In Christ's death, He began a process that would bring or "drag" mankind back to Him, by the nap of their necks or willingly!  Hopefully, that mankind will at some point "prefer" or "take for themselves" the right God.  And no longer turn their back to the creator who gave His life for His creation.  They will accept God's system or they will die permanently.  Christ truly was the "Tree of Life," in the Garden of Eden. But, man was fooled into going with Satan!

Revelation says that Satan has deceived the whole world?  How?  In that many think they are worshipping the true God but they are not! They are deceived.  If you want to worship the God of the Bible, how do you recognize Him?  For one thing, He is the creator.  And the creation contains a sign that will help you recognize that you got the right God.  What is it?

On the seventh day, the creator sanctified the Sabbath as His day of worship, then that begs a question!  If Christ is called "The Lord of the Sabbath" is it because He created man and created the Sabbath and is therefore the "Lord of the Sabbath?"  For more information on this read our article called "Is Christ the God of the Old Testament?"

The Lord of the Sabbath is Jesus Christ...and the Sabbath is His sign, it is God's mark that you have the right messiah, that you are worshipping the God of the Covenant...the true God!  If you don't have God's mark then you have Satan's mark...which is Satan's day of worship, and what is it?  Could it be the day of the pagan sun worship? The creator showed us His day of worship...and it wasn't the first day of the week.

THE COMING KINGDOM OF GOD, and replacement of Satan!

The Bible speaks of the coming "Kingdom of God," in which Satan will be removed as ruler of the world. A new government led by Jesus Christ will rule the whole world with justice and fairness...beginning at the return of Christ! The Kingdom of God will be the utopia that man has longed for, it will never end, and it will be right here on this earth. Zechariah 14 describes the return of Christ in great detail and calls him the King of the Earth!

The Lord's prayer says, "Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven." The Kingdom of God is not here yet, and can only come after Satan is removed as ruler of the earth. Each person has to decide whether they want to worship the creator God, the Lord of the Sabbath, or.....
