WHAT IS THE TRUTH?

HOME

Shortly before Christ was killed he said,"...My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jews. But now my kingdom is from another place."  "You are a king, then!" said Pilate.  Jesus answered, "You are right in saying I am a king. In fact, for this reason I was born, and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me."   John 18:36-37

In fact, this word "truth" mentioned by Christ above is used in the New Testament almost 200 times.  Why such emphasis on this subject???  What is "the truth" anyway?  It has to do with aligning yourself with the true creator God and His system of Laws, statutes and judgments...

James 5:19-20 SPEAKS OF "THE TRUTH" IN CONTEXT OF TURNING A SINNER FROM THE ERROR OF HIS WAY...  "Brethren, if anyone among you wanders from the truth, and someone turns him back, let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and cover a multitude of sins."

1 John 2:3-4 says that if you are going to claim to know God, that you must keep the commandments.  "Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments.  He who says, "I know Him," and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him."  Is the truth in you???  It can be.  God wants you to keep the commandments.   The commandments are "the covenant" that we agree to keep.   If you want to "know God", then it's time for you to start keeping the Saturday Sabbath.  One of the commandments say "remember the Sabbath Day to keep it holy."   Think you can "know God" and be a law breaker?  No...not according to God's word.

"Whosoever commits sin transgresses also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.  Whosoever abides in him sins not: whosoever sins has not seen him, neither known him."  1 John 3:4-6
